Lisa Edelstein: “I don’t think that ‘House’ ends in a sharp”

She is a strong woman with power, not intimidated by one of the most arrogant of television. Lisa Edelstein takes off tight skirt and heels that characterize her character, Dr. Cuddy on House, to visit Madrid for the first time in her life.
The serie starring Hugh Laurie gives its sixth season on Fox and Cuatro, almost the same with the U.S.. After giving 127 episodes in their home country, a step difficult to achieve in the current television landscape, Edelstein does not get tired and still not see an end to short term. “It will last as long as Hugh Laurie is able to work 15 hours a day. I know that has a contract for eight seasons, but may take more or less,” says the actress. “I don’t think a show like ‘House’ ends in a sharp”
Edelstein’s character has had to cope with the breakdown of each of the members of the Princeton Plainsboro Hospital, although she has had little time to enjoy.
First, a touch of pleasure with your own doctor House: “I tried to enjoy as much as possible,” says Edelstein. “House vulnerability is attractive to many women. Hugh is much more gentle, more polite. He laughs a lot.” Meanwhile, some moments of surprise: “We were not prepared for the suicide of Kal Penn in the serie, which actually went to work with Obama.” In the end, even jealousy has lived in his own skin: “I remember feeling jealous of Cameron with some scripts,” says the actress laughs.
A serie like House, with a minimum of 22 episodes each season, involves almost no work that allows time for other side projects. “I’m always on guard,” says Edelstein. “I have to be available from five o’clock on Monday morning until five in the morning on Saturday.”
Now, however, has changed his boss for a few days to work under one’s own Laurie, director of the last chapter released in USA, which managed to retain more than 10 million viewers, and to be issued in Spain next 4 Fox May and 11 May on Cuatro. After this, the actress has begun to develop new projects, though not in the same direction as his co-star. “I think more to create programs to direct them.”
Lisa Edelestein answered each question with a smile, something that viewers of House are not very used to see in the serie. “She is a very important part of me, but I can spend time a lot better,” he says, “The doctor has more responsibility. The only thing that I have to worry about is that my dogs have food.”
Edelstein, who without any doubt wished to work in ‘Mad Men’ if she wasn’t in the serie that gave her fame, has clear the House’s secret for success around the world: “The writers, Hugh Laurie and sarcasm, something capable of crossing cultural lines. ”
